Key Takeaways from Blogafest 2019

Formerly known as the Blogapalooza, Blogafest is an annual business-to-influencer networking and marketing event that gathers content creators from all over the Philippines for a day of fun, learning, interaction, and collaboration. In this post, I’m sharing with you some lessons and insights about this event themed “Celebrating Content Creation, Conversations, and Communities.” But first, here’s a quick video:

The Power and Responsibility of Influence

The first-panel session was with Macoy Averilla of MacoyDubs, YouTube EduCreator Lyqa Maravilla, JF Escobañez of The Red Whistle, and Brazillian model Daiana Menezes, who all shared tips on authenticity and responsibility. I loved that this was the chosen topic to kickstart the day of learning. It was a great reminder to always be grounded to our “why”, to use whatever little influence we have for a bigger cause, and to continually work to #ElevateInfluence.

Another session I loved was the one with blogger Karina Ramos, lifestyle and entertainment blogger Rod Magaru, beauty and lifestyle influencer EJ Nacion, and ABS-CBN Starmusic Artist Miko Manguba.  They shared their insights and gave some tips for OG (original gangster, a slang term for someone who’s old-school) and newbies in the influencer industry.

There was also a session with the influencers of radio with Yes FM DJs Rico Panyero, Maria Morena, Sexy Megan, and Ganda Wanda, who shared their experience on using different forms of media and platforms. Pro gamers, Rumble Radio Show Host + LOL Gamescaster Ben Joel Naval, Rumble Royale’s Emile Tanglao, Jab Escutin of Bren eSports, and Overdrive Studios Owner and Founder RD Rogacion also shared their thoughts on navigating the world of e-sports in the Philippines. Twitter gurus Justine Chua, Saul De Jesus, and Regis Andanar and Tita Belay of Titas of Pageantry, Chris Alarcon of PGAG.ph, and Mark Anicas of Filipino Tweets That Matter were also there to give useful advice for the attendees.

Celebrating Conversations

Eight years into the influencer marketing industry, Blogapalooza Inc. continues to host the largest and most inclusive event for bloggers and social media content creators in the Philippines. Not only did the talks focus on conversations within the content creators community, but they also highlight relationships with brands. Aside from the various talks and panel discussions for us to better our crafts, there are a lot of networking opportunities, product showcases, and sponsor exhibits during the event.

With 2,021 content creators in attendance to this year’s Blogafest (with 70 regional bloggers from all over the Philippines!), there’s no question that Blogapalooza is the Philippines’ premier influencer marketing company! The blogosphere is continually growing, and it’s always fun to be a part of a community helping each other and succeeding together.

World-Class Creator and Influencer Community in the Philippines

During the event, Mr. Donald Lim of Dentsu Aegis formally announced the launch of the Creator and Influencer Council of the Philippines (CICP) inviting all content creators and influencers in the country to join and build a stronger and world-class community. If we do work together, we can achieve greater things. 🙂
